Czechoslovakian were in protest of Soviet reign,
Warsaw Pact countries felt threatened and feared it would weaken communists. Romania broke free from Russian control and was trying to improve relations with the West such as the U.S., after this first incident the Czechs despised Russian control, Russia broke its economy which the Czechs to be poor. Russia also used Czechoslovakia as just one of its territories and gave the Czechs little freedom and control.
