According to Eusebius, Paul is dragged out of the city at the behest of Emperor Nero, where he is beheaded.

Peter, feeling unworthy to die in the same manner as Jesus, opted to be crucified upside-down on an X-shaped cross (according to Eusebius). What is unclear is whether Peter outlived his wife (see Luke 4:38-40) or whether her martyrdom occured before his own.
