10 magg 1927 anni - First Nonstop Solo Flight Across the Atlantic
Descrizione:
“The airplane has now advanced to the stage where demands of commerce are sufficient to warrant the building of planes without regard to military usefulness. Undoubtedly in a few years the United States will be covered with a network of passenger, mail, and express lines.” - Charles A. Lindbergh, the first ever pilot to fly solo across the entire Atlantic ocean. Charles bailed out four times before ever losing faith in piloting. Beginning his mission, He took off from Roosevelt Feild, Long Island in 1927 in a tiny plane, and headed out over the ocean, on his way to Europe from the United States. Over thirty-three hours later, he landed his tiny plane in Paris and was greeted with extreme applause and cheering. It was a justified tribute, because Lindbergh had just made the first ever non-stop solo transatlantic flight, and proved that a new era of air transportation had just begun.
