The classification of Djedkare's censuses according to the intercalary years shows that his first year of reign, in 2324 BCE, coincided with the 7th year of the 25-year lunar cycle. The full moon on 29 March 2331 BCE coincided with the I Akhet 1, which marks the beginning of the 25-year lunar cycle. There is, however, a one-year time lag with the lunar cycle, from Year 13 of Djedkare, perhaps because the censuses were carried out at the beginning of the intercalary year rather than at the end.
