Descrizione:
throughout the period of the 1660s - 1670 everyone really wanted to get rid of all these descent groups and after the millenarianism and the fifth monarchist the Quakers were next
all the conflict and tension started when the quaker got a new head leader which was George Fox the man was danger as he moved the Quaker religious group normally a pacifist group (don't like fighting) into an aggressive religious group and this was seen as a big danger to the English church as Quaker now got into rebellions like the 1663 Farnley Woodland plot uprising
The Quakers were often subject to fines, imprisonment, and physical violence. Many were beaten, whipped, or branded with hot irons. Some were even executed for their beliefs. The persecution of Quakers peaked in the 1660s under the Clarendon Code, which imposed strict penalties on those who did not conform to the Church of England. However, even after the Clarendon Code was repealed, the persecution of Quakers continued.
Despite the danger they faced, the Quakers continued to spread their message and gain followers.
