Standoff between Soviets and US where US found evidence of Soviet nukes in Cuba opposed to American missiles in Turkey. Extremely close to full on nuclear war. Kennedy was about to attack, then Soviets said they would remove nukes if they don't attack Cuba. They sign the Khrushchev-Kennedy pact, make hotline for fast communication.
