The end of World War II, a time that many were unable to see in their lifetimes, came on August 14, 1949. After Germany surrendered Japan was the last piece of WWII that haunted the world. On this day Japan surrendered unconditionally, so now people were able to live in peace without thinking about the war, and if each day would be their last. This day is now known as VJ Day, Victory over Japan day. The deadliest and most destructive war was finally over with a roar of celebrations right behind it.
