Krum defeated and annihilated the remainder of the Avars in Summer 797, then in Autumn, he defeat nearly twenty-thousand Khazars at somewhere Lower Danube. Khazar khan whom launch the march to intervine the Bulgars' action had been captured in the battle, left the northern steppe in chaos.
