Lists Phrenology's five main principles:

1) The brain is the organ of the mind.

2) The mind is composed of a large number (~3 dozen) of abilities or attributes called "faculties"; some of these are intellectual (cognitive) and some are affective (emotional)

3) Each faculty is located in a specific area of the brain; that location is the same for everyone.

4) For a given faculty, some people have more than others, and those with more of a particular faculty have more brain tissue in the corresponding location than those with less of the same faculty.

5) Because the skull corresponds roughly to the shape of the brain, the strength of various faculties can be inferred from the shape of the skull. (Later known as "The Doctrine of the Skull")
