Gwyn convinces maddie go to the church with him and open the "lair." When they found and opened the door to the "lair," Gwyn heard a voice. He thought it was Daniel's ghost but was surprised when he saw a Pterosaurs. Maddie realized that it was actually Daniel's friend Hermit because she read about him in Daniel's notebooks but she did not know Hermit was not a human.
