Descrizione:

The act prohibited skilled and unskilled laborers and Chinese employed in mining from entering the country. Subsequent amendments made it to where Chinese laborers who had left the country could not return. The outcome of the act caused years of racial hostility and anti-immigrant agitation by white Americans. The act lasted 10 years then was extended another 10 years by the 1892 Geary act.
