7 sett 1650 anni - The Three Rules Set In Play
Descrizione:
at the start of the long parliament, all the MPs knew how desperate Charles was getting now with re-instating parliament quickly after closing down the short parliament to come to an easier agreement towards the town and to finally a compromise between one another but Parliament took to their advantage as they set aside 3 rules/terms that Charles had to agree on to work with parliament.
1. the abolition of the most confrontational financial and political aspects of personal rule
2. a return to an Elizabethan- based broadly protestant church
3. a separate financial settlement as agreed by parliament for Charles I
and with this, there is 3 reason for why this is bad for Charles
I. the first rule is bad because basically it's breaking down all of Charles's work over the 11 years of his personal rule and the rule and parliament are stopping all of his sneaky money grabs with methods such as tonnage and pound and forest tax. need Charles can't get any extra money now
II. the second rule s bad for Charles as Charles has spent his whole rule basically attacking the poor protestant so if they have to make England protestant it will give them power and with power, they will attack back on to charges
III. the third rule is just all about attacking Charles already when he is the weak supply of money that is about to get worse.
