As he stuck to his 1st mission as lord protectorate towards England was to create stability with ‘healing and settling’ and Cromwell knew that this would cause hell upon the country of England.
However instead of taking the crown Cromwell did improve his position and rule over England as he named himself LORD protector which like kingship but even better as parliament knew what the guides line of power a king could fall between but they didnt know the limits of a new LORD protectors
