Julius (male) and Ethel (female) were both charged, because they were caught passing atomic secrets to the Soviets. There was more evidence on Julius than there was on Ethel. Both were found to be spies, and were executed. After the fall of Communism, archives demonstrated that Communists has much closer ties to Moscow than previously believed.
