During this rally, which was organized partly by Martin Luther King Jr, around 250,000 people gathered in support of the Civil Rights Movement and its goals: the end of segregation, fair wages, equal education opportunities, voting rights, and civil rights productions
Significance: The March led to the initiation of a strong federal civil rights bill in Congress by John F. Kennedy's administration. It also helped raise awareness of the Civil Rights Movement, paving the way for future progress.
