The Quebec Act enlarged the boundaries of the province of Quebec to Labrador , Ile d'Anticosti and Iles de la Madeleine on the east, and the Aboriginal territory south of the Great Lakes between the Mississippi and Ohio rivers on the west. The Act brought back the French civil law and British criminal law and provided for continued use of the seigneurial system. The First Continental Conference was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies who met on September 5 to October 26 1774 at Capennters'Hall in Philadelphia, Pemmsylvania. To discuss the Intolerable Acts and their options and ended up petitioning King George lll for redress of their grievances.
