1 gen 1943 anni - ENIAC

Descrizione:

The ENIAC machine by John W. Mauchly and J.Presper Eckert. The ENIAC (Electrical Numerical Integrator and Calculator) was the first machine to use more than 2000 vacuum tubes, using nearly 18 000. Storing this machine and the machinery required to keep the machine cool took up over 167 square meters of floor space. In just one second, it could perform 5000 additions, 357 multiplications or 38 divisions; the use of vacuum tubes instead of switches and relays resulted in the increase in speed, however it was not a quick machine to re-program. Programming changes would take the technicians weeks and the machine required long hours of maintenance.
