Naval battle between Franco-American forces and British ships. It happened off the coast of Yorkshire between the French and Americans and two British ships protecting a merchant ship. Ended in a Franco-American Victory. The major leaders in this battle were John Paul Jones (Franco-American) and Richard Pearson (British).
