The Battle of Briar Creek was fought near where Briar Creek and the Savannah River meet, and ended in a loss for an American militia led by John Ashe and Samuel Elbert. The American troops were unorganized and unprepared for the warning given the day of the battle, which helped to result in their loss. The British were led by Mark Prevost.
