Formerly independent farmers now found themselves with new noble landlords, who suddenly owned the land with neither compensation to the farmer, nor even a warning of what was coming, thus led to a revolt broke out in Cappadocia in 769, which required the deployment of the Armenian and Syrian soldiers to put down.
