The Roanoke colony is the first of the English colonies to settle in north America. As queen Elizabeth I wanted to establish a permanent English settlement in north America. The first expedition was lead by Philip Amadas and Arthur barlowe, once they arrived they built relations with the local natives. Local natives included the Secotans and the Croatans. Not long after the colony was established the whole colony went mysteriously missing. When a new group of colonist passed by on July 22, 1587, They were shocked to find no one. The entire colony was missing! All they could find was a skeleton, which they assumed was the remains of one of the Roanoke colonist's. Even to this day there is no solid explanation of what happened to the lost colony.
