8 gen 2008 anni - Kevin Rudd's Apology

Descrizione:

Cause: The Stolen Generations bad Experience
In 2008, the Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, presented an apology speech to the First nations peoples and especially the stolen generations. The stolen Generations are First Nations Children who were taken forcibly from their parents and sent to a foster home. It happened between the early 1900's to the mid 1900's. Kevin Rudd felt sorry for them because they experienced a lot of trauma and racism that he didn't like. He was apologizing on the behalf the the early Australian Government.
This effected the First nations peoples because they had felt so unfairly treated for the past hundreds of years. Although it was very kind of Kevin to do the speech, it still didn't change anything. They still got discriminated against.
Perspectives:
FNP: The FNP were grateful that Kevin Rudd apologized, although some weren't so happy because he didn't even do anything about it. Kevin did this speech because he felt bad about the past laws and events that happened to the Stolen Generations and FNP.
