1 gen 980 anni - First Contact: Greenland
Descrizione:
The first instances of contact between indigenous Americans and Europeans may have been encounters between the Thule people (called “Skraelings” by the Vikings) and Scandinavians led by Erik Thorvaldsson, better known as Erik the Red.
The Thule people traded with European immigrants and successfully resisted Viking efforts at colonization. Thule communities ultimately fractured and migrated; their descendants are today the Iñupiat, Inuit, and Yupik peoples of the North American Arctic and subarctic.
