On January 9, 2014, Mojang released the Minecraft 1.8 Update.

Unfortunately, this update caused significant issues for servers utilizing Bucket at that time. To move forward, servers needed extensive plugin redevelopment. Consequently, the server experienced its quietest period, with player counts reaching an all-time low. During off-peak times, the server would often be empty.

Then came Rickyboy320.

On June 7th, approximately 1.5 years after the release of Minecraft 1.8, Rickyboy320 made a long-awaited announcement. After a tremendous amount of work, Minr was finally being updated to 1.8.

This news brought immense relief to the community, which had been struggling to retain new players.

It took a while, and a lot of manpower, and a lot of rage, debugging, testing, doing basic stuff, replacing itemframes, and more, but it's here. 1.8 has finally, after 9 months and 4 days, arrived. The leave of c_dric, having to get a server back up, and then also bukkit shutting down, greatly complicated the updating process. For the past week I've been trying to get most of it running, and today we've tried to fine-tune the last pieces, including lag."
