1 gen 170 anni - ? Muratorian Fragment

Descrizione:

Earliest possible date of the first known New Testament canon list, the Muratorian Fragment canon (it may originate significantly later). It lists much of the current canonical New Testament, with the following exceptions: Mark and Matthew are not named (but assumed to have been listed on a lost section of the document); lacks one of the Johannine epistles and implies some level of doubt as to the authorship of the others; also lacks the Petrine epistles, Hebrews, and James. Includes in the canon an Apocalypse of Peter (unclear whether the Greek or Coptic version, and the writer admits that it’s a controversial inclusion), and a Solomonic “Book of Wisdom”. Attests the first two chapters of Luke. Implies that there are other, unknown Pauline forgeries floating around.

The Muratorian Fragment uniquely claims that the gospel of John was composed by a group of disciples and bishops under the influence of divine revelation (!!), with John merely being selected as the scribe to compose everything as under his own name.

The Muratorian Fragment explicitly rejects the writings of Valentinus (naming him as Arsinous?), Basilides, an unknown Miltiades, a “Book of Psalms” written for Marcion, and an unnamed founder of the Asian Cataphrygians. Also indicates that some of the unknown Pauline forgeries of its era had something to do with Marcion.
