Runs away again, skipping school where he’s still being bullied. This time getting as far as Exeter. He hasn’t got enough money for the train to London and has to borrow a phone to call Molly.
She’s beside herself with worry as the school called to say he never arrived. He thinks she’s gonna be furious but when she arrives, she’s calm. She hands him a brand new phone. He think she’s mad. She tells him that if he ever fancies running again to make sure he’s got enough money and a phone. He can tell he’s worried her and promises to not run again. To try harder at school. He isn’t sure he can upkeep that promise.
