The Tet Offensive was a military attack by the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong on cities in South Vietnam. This attack had attempted to push the US troops and support out of South Vietnam and begin rebellion among South Vietnamese citizens. Despite the US's ability to fend off the attack, the lasting impact caused domestic US support to heavily drop as a result of the casualties and damage. This event was a major turning point in the withdrawal of US troops.
