2 lugl 1596 anni - Duncan obtained a charter from King James VI
Descrizione:
Duncan was a fervent protestant. He engaged in correspondance with Cunningham the English ambassador to Scotland in an effort to obtain his support for the cause of James VI of Scotland to become a protestant successor to the crown of England upon the approaching death of the ageing Elizabeth I. Records kept in the English Public Record office show that the ambassador visted Dunollie castle in 1596 and that Duncan of Dunollie kept him informed of anti English activity in Ireland. As a result he obtained a charter from King James VI in 1596.
