28 lugl 1148 anni - Siege of Damascus
Descrizione:
The Crusaders decided to approach Damascus from the west, where large orchards would provide them with a constant supply of both food and water. Upon their arrival the Crusaders lay siege, with wood from the orchards used to construct engines. However, constant Muslim harassment from with the orchards led the Christians to move their forces to the plains east of the city. The eastern walls were less heavily fortified, but the area lacked food, water or materials. As Muslim armies began to arrive and running low on supplies, local lords then began to withdraw their forces and the Crusaders were forced to call off the attack.
