JV had originally stepped down as second-in-command earlier than planned. He intended to start a new job soon that would require much of his time in mid-August. While he still had some time on his hands he was reluctantly pulled out of retirement by Muszy. JV had specifically asked if at anytime he became inactive, he would be replaced as needed.
