The 20th of January, 2029, marked the day James P. Norman and running mate Thomas B. Cotton were sworn into office. A figure on the far right, Norman had risen to prominence during the 2010's and 2020's thanks mostly to the growth of his media platforms on Youtube, and the conservative political network "Real America's Voice" (which was soon rebranded to AMNET news, following Norman's seizure of power). Norman had previously been involved with the alt-right, and Trump's campaign team before his death from a stroke. Norman also fostered the "American Liberty Movement", a far right neo-fascist movement known for its violent paramilitary groups known as "Liberty Militias", as well as its incorporated attitudes of racism, bigotry, pro alt-right sentiment, and conspiracies about election fraud/the "deep state".

The inauguration was marked by massive counter-protests, a neo-fascist rally at the national mall in Washington D.C, a speech by Norman that outlined his plans for "fighting multiculturalism" in the US, as well as a declaration of a "New Dawn" over America. That night, massive riots broke out across the country as Norman supporters clashed with anti-normanites and antifascists in the streets. Liberty militias also engaged in acts of physical violence, beatings, looting, arson and murder. Supporters of Norman called the event "Night of a thousand torches". The worst of the violent acts also included mass shootings, several bombings and assassinations of politicians, journalists and other individuals.

Unfortunately for America, much of this type of violence had become routine and normal since "Black November", over 4 years earlier. Since that point, the American Liberty Movement (ALM) had grown to be one of the largest political movements in the US, as well as abroad.

Unfortunately for America, its darkest days were just beginning. Norman quickly got to work dismantling what was left of the systems that upheld America's democracy, civil rights and egalitarian values, all while transforming America into the Yockeyist imperium that Norman and Co. had always strived for.
