1 dic 1824 anni - Corrupt Bargain
Descrizione:
Election of 1824, Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams, and William H. Crawford. Jackson won the majority in both popular vote and electoral college, however with four other popular running mates there was no clear victor. With the choice going to the house of representatives, and Henry Clay being the Speaker of the house, he approached Jackson with a quid pro quo-he would aim his supported electoral votes then at Jackson if he would be appointed to secretary of State. Jackson denied only for Adams to accept, resulting in Adam's victory and an angery of Hickory.
