Cole Army Base, Agate, New Mexico. El Malpais.A Predator, referred to by local Navajo Indians as an Adilgashi, lands due east of the Cole Army Base in the North Plains of New Mexico. It is encountered by alienated Army Corporal Enoch Nakai while out on patrol and kills numerous soldiers. Nakai's superiors meanwhile find the Predator's ship and take it into the base to study secretly. The investigation is lead by Colonel Athelry, Sargeant Coates, and a military scientist. The Predator destroys the base by setting off the self-destruct device in his captured ship, leaving Nakai as the sole survivor. The Predator then terrorizes the town of Agate and the surrounding area causing a panic and bringing in more military reinforcements lead by Colonel Trench and his team. Corporal Enoch Nakai is allowed to join them. Trench's second in command Major Amblin is sent in to kill the monster and dies with his men. Nakai goes awol to face the beast in a final battle in a hidden jungle oasis set in the middle of the volcanic waste known as El Malpais, which it has been using as a base, and brings back its head. Presumably, the rest of it is destroyed by the burning oasis.
