Roosevelt met with Churchill and Stalin at the Black Sea resort city of Yalta in the Soviet Union. The Big Three discussed the fate of Germany and divided it into occupation zones so that Germany would never again threaten the Soviet Union. Churchill wanted to punish Germany way harsher, but FDR was able to convince him to agree to these terms while trying to maintain the Grand Alliance.
Significance - The world leaders met and divided up Germany into zones so they could each begin rebuilding. Germany was not punished like the last World war.
