Allen “Wayne” Robinette, 67, a life-long resident of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, in Cleveland, TN at the residence of his daughter, Elizabeth Flores, who was serving as his caregiver and where he was living at this time. Born in Princeton July 3, 1948 he was the son of the late J.L. Robinette and Lorena Swim Robinette Walker. Wayne was a graduate of Princeton High School. He retired in 2012 as Chief Office Deputy of the Mercer County Assessor’s Office with 26 years of service. Prior to the Assessor’s office he was a draftsman doing blueprints for Joy Manufacturing Co. Wayne enjoyed all aspects of his career in the Courthouse and especially the political side of the business. He held many positions and received many honors during his career. Among them were; President of the Mercer County Democrat Club, named both the State of West Virginia and the Mercer County Democrat of the Year and serving on the State and County Democrat Executive Committees. Wayne was also elected by the voters of Mercer County as County Surveyor. For many years Wayne opened regular scheduled meetings of the Mercer County Commission with a prayer. Wayne always said he loved Jesus, Family, Democrats and Jeff Gordon. Wayne had a close companion, his cat Bandit, he adopted from the Animal Shelter. Wayne loved his autograph collection he worked at since childhood and his Jeff Gordon Nascar collection he worked on for several years. He also loved to read and be a daddy and a grandpa to his children and grandchildren that he took such great pride in. Wayne never met a stranger and was loved by his many friends. In addition to his parent’s two brothers, Steven and David Robinette and one sister, Patty Reed preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Louise Turpin and husband David of Perris, CA, Elizabeth Flores and husband Jonathan of Cleveland, TN, with whom he made his home and Teresa Robinette of Bristol, TN; twenty five grandchildren; one sister, Linda Donley and husband Dickie of Princeton and five brothers, Michael Robinette of Dublin, VA; Donald Robinette, Jackie Robinette and Barry Robinette all of Princeton and Scottie Robinette and wife Wendy of Athens. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Wayne will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastors Aaron and Christie Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his brother, Scottie Robinette, son-in-law, Jonathan Flores and grandsons, Jonathan Flores, Jr., Joseph Flores, Jacob Flores and friend, Verlin Moye. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
