On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked 4 airplanes and carried out suicidal attacks against the United States. Two planes were flown into the twin towers of the world trade center in New York City. Another plane hit the Pentagon in Arlington Virginia, very close to Washington DC. The final plane crashed in a field in Shanksville Pennsylvania, suspected to be on its way to either Camp David or a nuclear power plant. This final plane was stopped by the passengers who fought back against the hijackers. On all 4 planes, everyone lost their lives.
