*Because I couldn't find concrete time periods for their existence, I put them down as existing in one specific year. However, the Swahili States didn't just pop up in the year 1400 and then leave or something.

The Swahili City-States were a group of city states located on the southeast coast of Africa linked because of their similar culture and friendly trade relationships. The cities, among other places, experienced the Bantu migration, in which many Bantu people from West Africa migrated to places in East Africa. This migration caused many East African states to become less reliant on hunting and gathering and more reliant on other industries, as was the nature of Bantu culture.
