7 ore 24 min, 6 lugl 1898 anni - Klondike Gold Rush

Descrizione:

1897. The Whitehorse Copper Belt extends for approximately 30 km in the hills just west of Whitehorse. Prospectors on their way to Dawson discovered copper there in 1898, the first year of the Klondike gold rush. Jack McIntyre staked the first claim on July 6, 1898, and called it the Copper King.
Whitehorse and the Yukon as a whole was originally the First Nation’s campsite. According to a book by Janice Parker, some Anthropologists (a study about various aspects of life or humans in past and present societies) had estimated that before the Klondike Gold Rush came, there were about 6,000 to 40,000 First Nations/ Native Peoples living in Yukon.
When Gold was founded by Skookum Jim Mason, Tagish Charlie, and Seattleite George Carmack in 1898, the population had in increased to 100,000 as they rushed in, wanting the founded gold. After the Gold Rush though, the number had decreased.
