In the not-so distant future, an estimated 1.8 billion people will not have access to clean, fresh water. Another 2/3rds of the world's future population will be living in water-stressed instances, and these already- infeasible conditions will keep getting worse until one day, the world will not remember the taste of refreshing, clear water. The reason behind this predicted mass shortage? Pollution of our (even now), few drinkable water sources, combined with overpopulation and a increasingly warming world means that humans, as a species, will eventually be in a state of severe dehydration unless we find some way to either: 1. Increase the amount of fresh, drinkable water in the world, or 2. Cut down on overpopulation and thwart global warming.
