Since 2000, the volume of goods entrusted to rail freight has fallen by 43%, while that of road transport has increased by 16%. To remedy this, the Minister of Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari announced on Monday 13 September a new government support plan for rail freight, as part of the Week of Innovation in Transport and Logistics (SITL). According to a ministerial document consulted by Les Echos (https://lnkd.in/ex-Btxw9), the State plans an investment plan of 1 billion euros as part of the recovery plan and an "additional annual envelope of 170 million until 2024 to support the operation of rail freight services.
