Following the Throne Wars, Calimshan fights to retake its eastern territories by the Lake of Steam and the Shaar. However, they find that the beholders are resurgent and that they and their cultists now dominate much of the land east of Ankhapur. The beholder forces push out of the Alimir Mountains and west into Calimshan to counter the Calishite invasions.
