Boshevik revolution takes place in Russia and causes the Russian Civil War. This brings about new communist rule whose ideology helps bring about the Cold War. It has been come to be known as the great contest, as it was a war fought over communism vs capitilism which elevated tensions between the two ideologies. The ideological differences between the east and west would lead to antagonism and eventually Cold War. The image is of Lenin talking to the people of Russia.
