Fact 1: Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to step outside of the spacecraft, saying the now famous words “one small step for man, one giant step for mankind” as he placed the American flag on the rocky terrain.
Fact 2: Neil and Aldrin walked around for three hours. They did experiments. They picked up bits of moon dirt and rocks.
Plot twist: The moon landing didn’t happen for another decade because the pressure wasn’t as intense on NASA. They assumed they were ahead and didn’t rush. Russia actually won the race because they only had a small problem with their previous rockets.
