30 gen 1966 anni - Carterfone

Descrizione:

Carterfone invented by Thomas Carter, was a device which allowed radio systems to connect to telephone systems. This process worked on the basis of a system operator, located at a base station, forwarding the radio call through to the telephone system. The system caused political movement as prior laws and legislation stated that any device could connect to the telephone system without asking for permission. After the release of the Carterfone, laws were implemented allowing anything to connect to the telephone system on the condition that it did not bring harm to the system itself – this event was called ‘The Carterfone Decision’.
