11 giug 1928 anni - First rocket powered air vehicle was built/launched
Descrizione:
A project called the Lippisch Ente that was a part of the Opel RAK program, was the first full sized rocket powered aircraft flown. It was originally designed as a sailplane by Alexander Lippisch and was first flown with power on June 11, 1928 in Germany. It was flown under the Opel RAK program with Fritz von Opel and Max Valier. The Opel RAK was a series of rocket vehicles produced by a German automobile maker from the Opel car company. This program is known for being one of the first large-scale rocket programs. The Ente (duck in german) helped further rocket fueled vehicles to open up more possibilities for upcoming mechanics. This could be considered a success because it was flown without disaster and led to a gateway to new rocket fueled aircraft.
