in 1639 two brief campaigns were fought between Charles I and the Scots. The wars were the result of Charles's endeavour to enforce Anglican observances in the Scottish Church and of the determination of the Scots to abolish episcopacy the soon ended in 1640 with no battle breaking out of it this way because a lot of the Scottish army was made up of solider from the 30-year war and so Charles realised his limits. so signed a paper to end in where a Scotland church would see the new book and see if they wanted to have it. which it soon ending the war with a simple no from the scots.
