The Sumerians kept a record of their ideas. In fact, they developed a system of writing called cuneiform. Sumerians used a clay tablet and a stylus in writing. Hundreds of thousands of these tablets have survived, which served as a window into the Sumerian culture. Their writing system would later on influence the style of scripts in the region.
