At age 15, Vivaldi began his journey into priesthood. In 1703, Vivaldi was ordained as a priest. He was referred to as "il Prete Rosso" or "The Red Priest" because of his red hair. His career as a priest was short lied due to his health problems. He abandoned priesthood shortly after his ordination.
