The great contract was the plan to try and make both sides happy this was because the contract would conclude being directed at James the 1st and parliament to try and get them along with each other. it would attempt to increase the crown's income whilst also limiting and getting rid of the debt of England it was an impossible task that was sadly passed down to Robert cecil's profession sadly as you would have guessed it was two perfect and did not succeed at all it was even outvoted by parliament before I could even get to James and when it did James denied the idea
