The Japanese had surrendered on one of our boats that had survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. This was huge because we had just finally ended WW2.The Japanese had surrendered because they did not want all of their people to be massacred and killed mercislessly by the A-bombs. They knew that we wouldn't have stopped.
